WELCOME TO GEORGIA AND THE
DEEP SOUTH CONVENTION - “WET & WILD”

It is indeed my privilege to “Welcome” all of you to our home GEORGIA.  For those of you who drove in to Atlanta, hopefully as you crossed your state line into ours noticed our sign that says “Welcome – We’re Glad Georgia’s on Your Mind” and truly we are for we have you, the members of the Deep South Region on our minds.  Our Georgia members have been working hard to make this a convention you will remember.  If you need anything, please ask and one of our members will make sure that you are taken care of.

We hope that you will relax and enjoy yourselves while visiting with us in our home and our garden called – GEORGIA!

The 46th Annual Deep South Region Convention was headquartered at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel and  featured an opening Tea at the home of former NGC President Deen Day Sanders. A highlight of the convention was a tour of the world’s newest and largest (and best!) aquarium, The Georgia Aquarium.

We were greeted by a school of Yellowtail, got to watch the Jellyfish dance, and walk through a tube under the tank as the HUGE Whale Shark swam over us.

The Spouses’ Tour included a trip to The Atlanta History Center Museum and Tullie Smith Farm (history of Atlanta, Civil War relics and Southern Folk Art), and a tour of The World of Coca-Cola (world’s largest collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia).

Entertainment was provided by renowned radio personality and garden authority
Walter Reeves and by Emory University’s all-male a cappella group “No Strings Attached”.

DSR’s own Gina Jogan and Tina Tuttle  created the program for the Design Dinner.
