Deep South Region - Habitat for Humanity Landscape Project

Please reproduce this "REACH FOR THE GOLD" flyer and share with your fellow members. Reaction to this innovative and fun way to raise funds for landscaping HFH homes has been positive and enthusiastic. Help us to swell the funds raised to report at the NGC WALK-A-THON scheduled for the 2009 NGC Convention. Of course, in addition to this fun(d)raiser, all those attending NGC Convention will support the WALK-A-THON by either WALKING or ROLLING-OVER (those who choose to catch extra zzzzz's and send a check). Deep South Region has come in No. 1 each year that a WALK has been scheduled. We CAN do it again!, but with a new twist....."REACHING" instead of "WALKING" .....at our Deep South Convention.

Encourage your Club to hold a "costume jewelry sale" locally and report the amount raised to your State HFH LP Chairman so that the funds you raise can be tallied into your State's report to NGC. Remember all funds reported must be used for landscaping Habitat homes. If you just can't part with any of your (costume) jewels, cash donations are happily accepted. No amount is too small All jewelry and cash donations are tax deductible. Join in the FUN..... PARTICIPATE! By beautifying the grounds of a Habitat home, you will not only enrich the lives of those less fortunate, but you will enrich your soul, enhance your community and improve the environment. COSTUME JEWELRY SALE "REACH FOR THE GOLD"

Just a reminder that the Deep South Region's participation in the annual fundraising project to benefit the landscaping of HFH homes (prior to the WALK-A-THON fundraiser at the NGC Convention in Houston) is our COSTUME JEWELRY SALE. We hope that you are having great results in your local clubs and that you will be sending lots of jewelry with those who will be attending the DS Convention in Huntsville. Remember, we are in competition with the 7 other Regions and we intend to come in No. 1, as we always have in the past. Please continue your fund raising activities right up to the NGC Convention. Report your totals to the HFH LP Chair in your State who will in turn report them to me. As in the past, funds raised by your State remain in your State for your local HFH landscaping projects.

In Huntsville, we will be provided 3 six foot tables, to be shared by our 6 DS States. We are elated that the tables will be in the vendor area in the Atlantis Room so that there will be plenty of foot traffic to entice robust sales. We will be depending on each State to have a representative in charge of displaying and selling the costume jewelry that your State has donated for the fundraiser. It will be fun to see which State has the most and glittsyest (I'm not sure that's a word) baubles and bangles to sell. Set your sites high for this wonderful cause - landscaping Habitat for Humanity homes. As always WE ARE NUMBER ONE! If you can't bear to part with your treasured baubles and bangles - monetary donations are always welcome.

At the NGC Convention in Houston, those of us who will be attending the Convention, are encouraged to give our full support of the WALK-A-THON. If you can't walk the walk and wish to roll-over, please send your check. It's an established DS tradition!
