The Deep South Region
Scholarship program offers financial aid to a qualified Deep South
Region high school senior majoring in any garden or environmental
related subject and enrolled in an accredited college or university in
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Tennessee.
Donations and the proceeds from the Deep South Region Life Memberships are applied to the Scholarship Fund, using the invested interest income annually, if funds are available, to provide funding for a scholarship grant of $1,000.00. The annual grant is dispersed to the designated school by August 15. Students in each state are eligible to apply with applications being sent to each individual State's Scholarship Chairman. (see list below) The Deep South Region Scholarship Committee will consider only one (1) application from each state. Each state’s entry should be sent to the Deep South Region Scholarship Chairman, Barbara Bohmann, P.O. Box 1931, Auburn, Alabama 36831-1931 by February 15. The scholarship winner will be announced at the annual convention. Additional information and application forms may be obtained from individual State Scholarship Chairmen or the Deep South Region.
